Upcoming Trips

This term we have been learning all about Islam in Learn Together. We are going to visit a mosque in Clonskeagh on Wednesday, November 29th. We hope to bring the children elsewhere after the mosque depending on the weather and traffic (e.g. a park, museum, etc.).

We are also hoping to bring the children to see the film 'Wonder' before we finish up for the Christmas holidays. (The children are reading the novel at the minute.) We are yet to confirm the exact date for this trip.

The total cost for the 2 Trips is €10. The school is covering all additional costs as we are conscious that the Christmas Holidays are approaching and that money can be tight at this time of the year.

Regards,

Kevin and Shane.

The Intel Mini Scientist competition.

Children will once again be entering the Intel Mini Scientist Competition.

Information on the competition can be found on http://www.miniscientist.ie/?page_id=541

Children will be working in groups.

Children can find helpful tips and resources on various topics/experiments on  http://www.education.com/science-fair/elementary-school/

Children should choose a topic area and begin some research and establish a suitable research question i.e. what they want to find out.

We kindly ask that you enable your child to work individually or collaboratively with their peers. Adults can guide, monitor and support their work where necessary.

I will post further updates here soon. Any questions or queries please do not hesitate to ask me.

Here is a list of some suitable websites to help with their research and brainstorming:
